TOTAL NUMBER OF UFC EVENTS: 747
The Ultimate Fighting Championship took a step way, way down in comparison to last year’s gala Noche UFC event. Rather than posting up in a Mexican city like Guadalajara to celebrate Mexican Independence Day, the promotion shoehorned itself into San Antonio, Texas. The results were still spectacular for the fighters reveling in the holiday weekend, with Mexican athletes unbeaten at night’s end. UFC Fight Night 259, also known as Noche UFC, featured another stumble for the Fighting Nerds team, a combatant that cannot hit his proper weight on a dart board and the conclusion of the 33rd season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” As a note, due to an unavailability of walkout music information, stats involving entrance songs will not be included on this particular piece—but they should be back soon.
Viva Mexico: Five Mexican-born competitors
appeared at Noche UFC: David
Martinez, Rafa
Garcia, Santigo Luna, Jesus
Santos Aguilar and Montserrat
Rendon. All five notched wins against foreign adversaries.
Sorry Nerd: Dispatching Fighting Nerds faithful Jean Silva with a spinning back elbow and follow-up punches, Diego Lopes reigned supreme atop Noche UFC. The Brazilian training out of Mexico has finished his foe in 85% of his professional victories.
New Meta: The spinning back elbow stoppage by Lopes is the fourth in the last month inside the Octagon. 2025 holds more knockouts of this type than any year in company history.

Lope$: For his thrilling victory, Lopes earned post-fight checks for both “Performance of the Night” and “Fight of the Night”—with half of the latter going to Silva. Lopes becomes the second fighter this year, after Nazim Sadykhov, and seventh since the beginning of 2020, to claim double bonuses for a win.
Out-Everythinged: Coming up short on the scorecards, Rob Font lost to Martinez and found himself outstruck on the feet. Connecting with 49 significant strikes, this marks the first time in his UFC tenure that Font had landed fewer than 50 sig strikes in a full-length bout without ever being taken down.
Renewed Sensation: Halfway through Round 3, Garcia drummed out Jared Gordon with elbows. The Baja California native procured his second career stoppage due to strikes, with his first coming in 2018 over LaRue Burley.

Tacos, Burritos, Chimichangas, Taquitos, Quesadillas, Enchiladas, Chilaquiles…: Ahead of his middleweight match with Dustin Stoltzfus, Kelvin Gastelum exceeded the divisional limit by five pounds. He joins Anthony Johnson as the only two fighters in promotional history to miss weight by at least five pounds in two different classes and still compete.

Getting Pretty Great: Less than a month after drumming out Chase Hooper, Alexander Hernandez returned to bust up Diego Ferreira. The four-fight win streak for “El Gran Chango” is his longest since beginning his UFC run in 2018 with two victories in the Octagon and six triumphs preceding it.
When the Luna Hits Your Eye: In under three minutes, Luna demolished Quang Le with a barrage of punches. The Entram Gym product moves to 7-0 as a professional, with all seven coming before the final bell.
From Dusko Till Dawn: The heavily favored Dusko Todorovic took care of business by tapping Jose Medina with a rear-naked choke in the opening frame. Performing his first submission since hitting an RNC on Alexander Poppeck in 2017, the Serbian striker has notched 12 of his 13 wins by stoppage.
It Happens: En route to a decision win over Amanda Lemos, Tatiana Suarez succeeded in landing three takedowns. Her UFC strawweight total stands at 29, moving up to the fourth-most in divisional history while breaking a tie with former foe Weili Zhang.
No Comment: Smashing Sedriques Dumas’ groin with a kick, Zachary Reese earned a no contest due to his 51-second foul. Their no contest is the second in the UFC this year, with the first Paul Craig’s upkick against Rodolfo Bellato at UFC Atlanta.
Another 4oz. Traveler: Houston’s Alden Coria pummeled Alessandro Costa early into the third frame to make his successful organizational debut. “Cobra” sees his overall win rate inside the distance jump up to 82% courtesy of his knockout.
One for MX: Representing Mexico first on the card, Rendon outhustled the debuting Alice Pereira to pick up a split verdict. “Monster,” also known as “Montse,” has notched all of her pro victories by decision.
Ukraine United: To conclude the welterweight bracket of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 33, Daniil Donchenko busted up Rodrigo Sezinando with strikes. The Ukraine native boosted his stoppage rate to 83% when he became the first fighter from his country to win a season of the reality show. The “TUF 33” flyweight winner was crowned at UFC 319 when Joseph Morales tapped Alibi Idiris.
Never Say Never Again: Coming into UFC Fight Night 259, Silva (18 fights) and Sezinando (nine fights) had never been finished, Luis Gurule had never lost on the scorecards (11 fights) and Pereira had never been defeated (six fights).
