Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier are unlikely to bury the hatchet anytime soon.
Jones and Cormier have shared one of the greatest rivalries in MMA history. Jones beat Cormier via unanimous decision in their first outing in 2015. While Jones finished Cormier in their rematch in 2017, it was overturned to a no contest due to “Bones” failing a drug test. While they met inside the Octagon only twice, they have taken multiple digs at each other since.

Jones Says He Lives ‘Rent Free’ in Cormier’s Head
“I didn't say I lived at your house, even though I could if I really wanted to,” Jones wrote on X. “I said I built a mansion in your head, rent free. If you want your story to shine, stop putting my name on the cover every month. Just a thought.”

Cormier retired from the sport in 2020 and has since focused on his duties as a UFC color commentator. Meanwhile, Jones returned to action after a three-year hiatus in 2023 and made easy work of Ciryl Gane to win the heavyweight championship. Jones defended his title against Stipe Miocic despite interim champ Tom Aspinall waiting in the wings. Jones avoided a fight against “Honey Badger” for over a year until Dana White unceremoniously announced his retirement at a press conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, this past June. However, Jones returned to the testing pool just weeks later, rallying for a spot on the UFC’s card planned for the White House next year. However, White doesn’t seem very enthusiastic about Jones fighting again.
