Legend is a term often used when showering praise on influential figures from various fields. Many times, it’s an over statement. However, few would argue its worthiness when talking about the historic careers of boxing icons Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. They are pugilists that are often credited with inspiring fight journeys not just their own sport, but throughout the combat sports realm.
With that in mind, Sherdog spoke with 16 mixed martial artist champions, top ranked fighters and celebrity fans to get their picks for the Nov. 28 exhibition bout between the former world champions and hall-of-famers. Opinions were readily available, and the admiration for both fighters overflowed from MMA luminaries like Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight title-holder Jan Blachowicz, One Championship division kingpins Christian Lee, Thanh Le and Bibiano Fernandes, as well as stars from both promotions and Bellator MMA.
